A tête-à-tête with Rajashree Salvi, who speaks about the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, her preparations and how she lives responsibly.

Q. What motivated you to participate in the SCMM?

A. There are many reasons to participate in SCMM. The major reason being contributing to senior citizens and the other one is to be one with Mumbai while running, to show the world that by staying united we can fight any difficulty and will achieve a common goal of peace and happiness.

Q. How did your family react on learning that you were participating in the SCMM?

A. They were super excited to know that I am getting a 2nd chance to participate in the marathon.

Q. What steps are you taking to prepare for the SCMM?

A. I practice running four times in a week with a steady pace to build up the stamina with weight training sessions.

Q. Are you following a diet for the SCMM? If so, is it taking away from you enjoying your favorite foods?

A. Luckily it is not making me crave for my favorite food but I have added more of carrots and eggs to the diet.

Q. How has participating in the SCMM ensured that you live responsibly?

A. According to me responsible living is being a truly responsible citizen. Sometimes you need to go out of our way to do things which help society and give a little of our time & efforts for a greater good.

Q. RNA Corp. has adopted a locality in Sewri & will be taking up the responsibility for keeping it clean for an entire year. What do you think of this initiative?

A. RNA Corp. has been taking up social commitments for unprivileged people and this time too they are contributing for the wellbeing of the society.

Q. Cleanliness is of paramount importance, do you promote cleanliness & keep your environment clean, be it your home, office or even society? How do you do so?

A. Cleanliness is absolutely important because it directly impacts the health of our kids.
